Why Write The Next Chapter, When You Can Write A Whole New Book …

Sometimes we think we need to write a new chapter. But what if we’ve outgrown the book?

Isn’t it okay to begin again—to fill new pages with fresh adventures, dreams, and a version of ourselves we haven’t yet met?

We may hold on to the old book because it’s familiar and carries so much of who we were. We don’t have to throw it away. We can return to it, honor every page, and appreciate the experiences, love, laughter, tears, joy, and sadness that brought us here.

Some chapters we would gladly reread; others we might skip. Together, they tell our story.

But we can honor the old book without continuing to live in it.

Sometimes adding another chapter isn’t enough. Maybe the story has been told, and we’ve grow beyond the person who first picked up the pen. That doesn’t have to be sad. Finishing one book can make room for another.

A blank cover.

An empty first page.

New adventures waiting to be written.

We don’t need to know the ending—or even what happens in chapter two. We only need the courage to pick up the pen and write page one.

Just a thought to leave you with…

If you could close the book you’ve been writing and begin again with a completely blank page, what would the title of your new book be?

All of my heart,

Mary Wyrick
