A Different Kind of Soul Mate
A Different Kind of Soulmate
When we hear the word soulmate, we often think of romantic love—the person we are meant to build a life with.
But I believe there is another kind of soulmate.
Sometimes, a soulmate arrives as a friend.
She is the person who understands what you are feeling before you ever find the words to explain it. You speak the same words at the same time, laugh at the same things, and often understand each other without saying anything at all.
She is the one who has witnessed different versions of you and somehow loved every one of them. She has celebrated your victories, sat beside you in your heartbreak, and reminded you of who you are when life made you forget.
This kind of connection cannot always be explained. It is simply felt.
You may not share the same blood, the same story, or even the same path. Yet something in your souls recognizes each other. There is a comfort that feels like home and a trust that feels as though it has always been there.
Some friends walk beside us for only one season. Others remain through many chapters, growing and changing alongside us. They become part of the stories we tell, the laughter we remember, and the strength we carry into whatever comes next.
They do not compete with our light. They help us find it again.
They remind us that sisterhood is not only about sharing where we came from. It is about choosing to show up for one another—again and again, no matter how many miles separate us.
Perhaps a soulmate is not always someone we fall in love with.
Perhaps, sometimes, she is the friend who helps us fall in love with life again.
Pondering:
Who is the friend your soul recognized before you could ever explain the connection?
With all my heart,
